LUCKY

What a lucky girl I am to have TWO new nieces within 1 week of each other.Angie had her beautiful baby girl last week.They named her Justice Im not quite sure on the spelling but you get the point..Last night Mel had her Darling little girl and we are not 100% sure on the name but most likely she will be named Brooklyn.I am lucky to live so close to mel so I got to see her baby when she was new however I am not so lucky to live so far from Angie I have not yet been able to see their baby in real life yet but soon very soon..I am so happy for both you girls,congrats.. I think that it will be awesome for these two little cousins to grow up together being so close in age..

WOOHOO WHITNEY

Today my baby sister Whitney is graduating from BYU Hawaii .We are all so proud of her and her achievements..Hopefully she will use her expertise in Hurricane so she can be close to her awesome sisters..I can hardly believe that so much time has gone by that my little bro is getting married and my baby sis is graduating college. How time flies before I know it hopefully my own son and daughters will be doing some of these same things.( Kait in college so she can get a great job and take care of her ever loving parents) Good job Whit and I hope your future holds great things for you..

She is the newest addition to our tank.not the best pic i know but it shows how cute she is she is a copper banded butterfly..isnt she cute? Funniest thing is Mike put me on a red spend but then he sends me to pick her up, she was being held for him at living art..she really is cute though so we will overlook it this one time..Love ya babe

PeOpLe PLEASE

Please I beg of everyone with kids,if your child is sick please please please keep them HOME from school.Why do I say this? Well today Rivers comes home from school and says that they have an illness going around school that sounds a lot like the roto virus im not sure if thats how you spell that but you get the point. What is this you ask it is serious diareah and some serious barfs..Well just a couple of hours after that I get a phone call from Kaits school telling me that the county health dept. has notified them of several students that have been seen for pertusis( whooping cough) sick I know they follow that up with please check your imunization records to make sure your student has had this shot because this is a very contagious virus..Oh great so if these idiot parents who send their kids to school sick would keep them home I am pretty sure this would not be a problem..So PLEASE if your child is sick keep them HOME, sickness is really not something we need to share..Thanks and have a great day :)

We are finally home!

Well it took us only 11 days to wear out our welcome, I think my mom and dad and whit are probably breathing a sigh of relief after we left the drive way yesterday. We had so much fun being with family again we played games,watched several episodes of that 70s show ate a ton and just plain old enjoyed each other.We stayed so long that Laken actually thought we had moved in. He was talking to Whit and said something about before we moved here ,wow what a confused kid.. We did have a lot of fun and hopefully we didnt totally drive them insane. Thank you mom and dad for letting us stay and thank you to Michael for giving up your bed and thanks to Whit for not killing my kids. Love you guys and dad I hope you are doing well..

These are the most up to date photos of our tank.This is our new Dori and she is my little miracle fish . I call her that because when we got the box and I pulled her out there was no more water in her bag she was stuck between the sides of the baggie she was in..She is doing so good though she eats like the big fish and she she thinks that she is real big..In the other picture the one with the big gray fish with yellow lips that was my pride and joy until this morning when I went to feed them and she was dead on the bottom. So that really sucks because now we have dentist bills for the kids that will put an end to the fish for awhile so for now this is it....

This is Boss our yellow tang he is the biggest of the tangs and he really likes to take charge in our tank..I thought this was a pretty good picture so I though i would post one more for the day.We get our last shipment of fish on tues. i will post and show you the lucky few who will get to be the last in the tank, because after these we will be at capacity for the size of our tank.so this will be it for now or until I get my larger tank one day:)

The Latest

Here is the most current photo of my tank..We have gone through some serious bad times with the water quality of this tank in fact I was ready to drain the whole thing and start over..Luckily for us we have improved, our water is crystal clear and all is doing well except for Dori and after three long weeks of not eating she finally died it was very sad..So in this picture you see my awesome flowerpot coral and our new rare frogspawn coral it is pink and green it is beautiful.

The Halloween Carnival

We had to go to Rivs school on Sat. because she was preforming in her first Coral Canyon Choir performance..Lucky for us it was also the Halloween carnival with rides and all kinds of fun activities for the kids..This is my two little peanuts having a race to see who eats their doughnut first it was the funniest thing, they both did so well..Good job peanuts..

The best thing..

We have all decided that the best thing about living down south is that we get to be in our swimming suits running in the sprinklers on the 26 th day of October and not even be cold..pretty awesome huh.Rivers,Laken and his girl friend Makenna

well whitney here it is after all i couldnt handle it if i got kicked off your blog..here is the deal i havent posted for awhile because there is nothing that is terribly interesting going on in my life right now so i will just tell you all the things boring or not..this is our newest addition but not to the big tank yep you guessed it we started a new one so mike could put the aggresive non reef safe fish in it..this fish is a humu trigger we also added a niger trigger to that tank also..they are beautiful fish but not very nice after 20 min. of being in the tank this guy found the only crab and ate him yep in one bite(very sharp teeth)

This is Laken bacon in bed or at least that is what he is telling me..I tucked him up and 5 min later he was out looking for a snack I tell him to go to bed and he simply says to me "mom I am in bed and I am not getting out till morning" well could have surprised me cause it looks like you are out of your bed looking for that snack..silly boy GO TO BED !!!!!!

Is Dori just retarded? that is the question

We added Dori the blue tang 1 week ago.At first we didnt know if she would make she looked like she was on borrowed time however one week later and she is still alive..Well here is the problem she doesnt leave the sand bed..she rocks back and forth and every once in awhile she will surprise everyone and take off for about one second and then yep you guessed it back to the sand she goes...so the question is will she make it or not? we hope cause she is really pretty but she was in the bag way too long and maybe a little oxygen deprived so it could be that she will just live the rest of her little fishie life as a special (retarded) fish..

Tang Heaven

Here are the newest members of the Smith tank..This week we added 3 new yellow tangs they are beautiful every body in the tank seem to be doing very well they are all getting along pretty well and we have only had one murder it was the murder of a small crab...we found his lifeless body this morning and have yet to find the shell that belonged to him..we are thinking that one of the other crabs killed him for his shell......maybe they felt he had a bigger better one than they had it is still a mystery and we will continue the investigation into who murdered this poor guy..

The new additions to the Smith family

Our life in the reef world is getting better...Today we added 3 percula clowns ( nemos ) and a lawnmower blennie there is no picture of him because I dont even know where he went when we dumped them in..Swim well and best wishes little fishes......

Crazy LakePowell

These are my favorite pictures of Lake Powell..The one of my mom I totally love because A- she hates the water and was in it with my kids B- i love the hair do and last but certainly not least because I love that smile...She will probably be mad that I posted it but sorry mom it had to be done..I love the one of Jace and Rivers because I love how fast he fell and how Riv just got pulled along..This was a awesome trip I just wish Mel and Aaron could have stayed longer...

The day came Mel finally gave in and let Cincy get her ears pierced..Cincy was so brave and none of us know what mel was doing she disappeared ..She looks so cute with her new earrings and I am hoping Aaron wont be mad at me for too long..

Update on the tank

Sad to say we are now down to only 2 dang fish stupid things anyway really sad though..We did add 10 more turbo snails so turbo will have some tank mates seeing as how we are obviously having some problems with the fish thing right now ..we also added 5 blue leg hermits and 5 red leg hermits those are all still doing really well..we will keep our fingers crossed

The Day Is Here

Just look at that !!!! Isnt it just beautiful we finally have fish and yes I know nothing to fancy but we have to go slow because after all you dont want to kill a hundred dollar fish if the water isnt just right it is better to kill twenty five dollars worth.. So here it is for now five green chromis if they are still alive next week we will move into bigger better things so wish us luck:)

The new addition

This is Buddy he is half boxer and half black lab he is 9 weeks old..The kids really love him Rivers says that he is her dog and guess what next time its poop scoop time we will remember that.

Well our lights finally came but they were broken apparently it was a bumpy ride...so after pondering we decided to put the broken one up and run it with the lights that are working while we wait for some new bulbs to be shipped.. We,
especially mike think that it is going to be ok for now..It cracks me up when I see him watching the tank like that I think he is hoping for something to come out of the cracks..Hopefully we will have something swimming in it by the middle of this week....

A day at the pool

Here we are at the St. George pool this is one of our last trips because they are closing next week.Out of the kindness of my heart I didn't post the picture of Mel because she told me that she would never ever talk to me again,so even though I think it is one of the cutest pictures I wont do it cause I would really miss talking to her.. So for now its only the kids and they are super cute :)

This is lakens favorite place to hide at the park..He thinks that no one can see him there..I just think it looks cute and it is so funny watching the kids line up for there turn to hide in the rocks..

Here is mike cutting pipe on my kitchen table only after getting in trouble for cutting on my granite counter top did he start on the table..The other goof ball that looks like he is in the tank is mikes assistant chris they work together at Albertsons and now in my house on our tank..We are very grateful for his knowledge in all of this tank stufff..Thanks Chris :)

Getting there....

This is where we are at on our project..baby steps just baby steps ..so far we have all the plumbing,water and some beautiful rock and just today we found a friend on one of the rocks it is a turbo snail i'm hoping that he doesnt die due to our water conditions..we are still waiting for our sand it should have been here days ago so we are crossing our fingers that it comes tomorrow

Save your pennies

I really want one of these for my tank it is called a sabae anemone..It is a host to a tomato clown ,so what im wondering is , will everyone please please save your pennies for the anemone fund...

Kids say the funniest things so today I have decided to start writing them down..last night Laken asked Mike how long his arms were because they had out the measuring tape measuring different things for our new tank Mike responded I dont know two feet maybe and Laken quickly and so surely says back dad they are not feet they are hands :)

Joy riding on the bus

Good news - Riv gets on the bus just fine
Bad news - Riv doesn't get off the bus after school..You are wondering where she went ..well after waiting forty min. at the bus stop for her she calls me and asks where I am funny question I am wondering the same about her.. I drive home and sure enough there she is . so the story goes she missed her stop because she was to busy being social so she goes on a little joy ride with the bus driver, after driving around and having her try to explain where she lives which is a little difficult for an eight year old that has just moved in only a month before.The kind bus driver Steve drops her off right in front of our home... Thanks Steve and thank goodness he is so nice otherwise we could have had a total melt down on our hands..

We are starting a 125 gallon saltwater tank and this is where we are at ...we are waiting for the rock, sand and pump to ship and then it should start coming together- we hope - we ae so excited about it we can hardly wait to put nemo and dori in. I will post the next stages of our progress...wish us luck

A new car

well it really happened.. for any one that knows Mikes mom and dad, know that they have not had a new car in like fourteen yrs, well they finally had to give in and buy a new one because the t-bird pooped the bed..They are now the proud owners of a brand new ford fusion..Congrats grandma Joan and grandpa Wes
